As I walk freely naked within these woods, through this lush desert, or submerge into the flowing natural waters collected by nature, I think of spiritual freedom in two ways: freedom to and freedom from.
As I relate this to my life, I realize that I am free to live my unique self.
I am free to express my divine nature in creative, expansive ways that give my life meaning. I am free to live a fulfilling spiritual life. I am free to fully experience all that is, which are my blessings. I walk here to fully appreciate them. Be it the rich sensation a deep breath brings, that pause, noticing the awareness of accentuated aliveness, or grounded peace that that breath may bring. Be it the breath of the Earth crossing over my body, each hair, each pore, each crevice, the warmth of it, the relief, or lovely shock that it may bring. Be it radiant sun’s heat, light, color, every part of what surrounds my being, knows that every part of my being is of it and so my being knows its oneness, as well.
I am also free from anything that would restrict me from knowing my divine nature. That which is within me sets me free. I release unwelcomed thoughts, habits, and attitudes, with the power of just being here now, aware. As I do, I step into my power to live wholly with a fulfilled heart and peaceful soul.
To be naked in this moment, I am free from fear and uncertainty; I pursue my deepest desires, my liberty. I am intensely alive. This is my right my nature, and my path.
Every now and then the “Daily Word” a publication from Unity Church, makes something click for me. So, I’ve significantly tweaked Tuesday’s April 14th, 2026 and offer my more naturist’s thoughts to you. Their author picked up on their take from a Bible quote: “Now the Lord is the spirit, and where the spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.” 2 Corinthians 3:17
