We are here because of the sun. We evolved with the sun. It is our nature to enjoy the sun. Our bodies are meant to live in sunlight, they need sunlight, they know how to adjust to sunlight, they have millions of cues and sensors to work with the sun. We are hardwired. We’re symbiotic. We’re dependent on the sun.

That being said, what is sunblock for? What is clothing for on a sunny day? It would seem that both of these are silly, basically dysfunctional and mistaken. It may be because we spend too much time indoors. Yes, some skin is more sensitive, but most is not, given time with sun and lovely shade.
Why does it feel so good to be undressed? It is because we are meant to be that way. How are there senseless laws, customs, cultures, and fears that deny a natural body, its natural existence?
Still out here naked in the wilderness. Sometimes the cold nights up here inspire the wood burning stove in the tent, or to be bundled up by the campfire under the Milky Way.
I am on the forum of FreeRangeNaturism.com often, if you would like to converse.

It is comforting to be greeted with a smile freely given. Just like we were given by the first faces we ever saw in life. We were naked then, too.

Tanning is a reaction to skin damage. Your skin will stay it’s best if you do not tan, which means using sunscreen unless you’re very dark-skinned.

Tanning is a conditioning reaction to sun. It is how the skin adjusts to protect itself from burning exposure. It is best incremental.
There are many genetic differences in individual skin, but most of us will tan safely and that tan will protect us from burns. It doesn’t make skin get old before its time, unless there is burning. DF, an older white gal in lots of sun, has lovely smooth skin. Some people get rougher with age, sun exposure or not. It is about skin type. By what the sunscreen sellers purport, I should be like leather, but I regenerate and am careful not to burn.
We are more susceptible to skin cancers where we have less tan, like tanlines. That is where most cancer appears.
We are supposed to be able to be in the sun. We wouldn’t have survived otherwise. We need the vitamin D and other benefits.
Sauna and exfoliation is good for skin. The natural processes work more efficiently. Toxic matter in sunscreen and lack of protective suntan cause disease in bodies over time. Sunscreen is unnatural and laden with unnatural chemicals. I won’t get near the stuff. I’ll use a little natural creosote sun stop on my nose, when the bill of my hat doesn’t work out. I’ll cover my shoulders with some cloth when needed..
So, I think that you, like millions of others have been misinformed. Thank-you for the good natured input, but of course, I’ll have to disagree.
