Why, am I wearing these CLOTHES? 2025#6

Nude, I’m cleaner…I’m more healthy.. more comfortable…I’m nonthreatening. This should mean, that I’m more socially viable, a safer person.

Why clothes?

Some days… it’s hot outside and nude feels much better… Yesterday was just plain beautiful… The clothing just shuts off the experience of those BLESSINGS…

It’s my naturism. So…Why am I wearing these clothes?

While we are away, mostly in a world without internet, telephones, Walmart, or dress codes, I have a few articles caught up with and scheduled to publish, but also, I have this series of shorts. I had planned to make a video of this and perhaps I still will, but I thought that it might be something nice to fill in, until we return with a ton of new tales to tell and show to you.

I am on the forum of FreeRangeNaturism.com often, if you would like to converse.

Why AM I wearing these clothes? 2025#5

I have no religion that requires any kind of dress.

Nude is not my dishonor. My nudity actually honors what I am.

What’s with me wearing these clothes?

I feel foolish in these clothes with all things considered. Looking back at old pictures… I notice that fashion gets mighty bizarre through time. Most people don’t even seem to realize it… Then, they look back a few years later of photos of bizarre hair styles, strange plastic belts, odd shapes and weird accessories.

Why clothes?

Bridges National Monument

Bears Ears XXX

2024-06-03

I awaken to sunrise, calm, peaceful, I feel the dawning in the world around me. The alarm goes off at 7am, but I’m already alert and out of bed, I pack up camp. Not an ordeal today, just a routine in an orderly system. We take fresh morning air, stretch and eat, then we leave around 10am.

I check at the ranger station asking about any need of permits. None are needed. There’s an okay for fires in the mountains. No restrictions, no problem. They know nothing of the dead calf that we found up the road yesterday afternoon. We tell them about the illegal artifacts at our previous campsite. They’re concerned and take notes. Something with the word “Tortolita” comes up as DF and I browse maps. The Forester perks up. It’s a small world. We have a common friend in Tortolita.

Down the road the road-kill calf is gone and so is its grieving mom. Sad, yet it is good to know that things continue.

We’re off to the canyon park loop drive in Bridges National Monument. I pull up to the Visitor Center hoping for better details.  I’m surprised that the facility is closed so close to Memorial Day. I peak into the window at the dark lobby. In the reflection, the parking lot is empty behind me. Might as well stay undressed! I’d been told that I’d get free wifi at the front door, but nothing comes out of the ethers there. The toilet rooms are open and clean. It feels liberating and comfortable, but a bit extra naked, wandering around a public area like that nude.

Why am I Wearing these Clothes? 2025#4

During those covid days, social status was something that got disused… like my closet door.

It was set aside, and that is where it belongs… I enjoyed having it put in its actual place, along with its associated competition and stress.

I’m not afraid without these clothes. I don’t need their protection.

Why am I wearing them?

Naturally naked, I feel more spiritual… connected… more aware in every moment… The worldly, all of that stuff, the rest of it…it falls away and the present becomes a wonderful place. I’m more in touch with who I am…I’m a being having an experience in this body, with feelings, and a billion sensations.

Naturally naked is the real stuff.

So, WHY am I wearing these clothes?

While we are away, mostly in a world without internet, telephones, Walmart, or dress codes, I have a few articles caught up with and scheduled to publish, but also, I have this series of shorts. So, Why am I wearing these clothes? 2025#2

I have no shame… Obviously, I’m not supposed to suffer shame.

I accept me as I am… My nude body isn’t dangerous… I’m safe to be around… I just spent months hanging around with this naked body and just a few others and we would all say that that is certainly fact.

So, Why am I wearing these clothes?

Why am I wearing these clothes? 2025#3

MY health is MY message.  When my body is exposed to myself and others it advertises my state of health. That’s about it… I’m not a billboard for something else, other than what I am.

Adding clothing just makes everything more complicated… If I have a message, I can just express myself by opening my mouth, or moving this body.

I don’t need clothing to provide emotional security.

I have no embarrassment when this body is being seen…why would I?

Nothing could be more individual or unique than my natural outfit? The choice is made simply and very easily.

Naked is much better than living in uniforms. Uniformity can be painfully dishonest. It can be demeaning and categorical.

So, Why am I wearing these clothes?

Why am I wearing these clothes? 2025#1

I spent months in one outfit. The great covid shutdown/shutout allowed me to not dress for about anything I needed to do. So, of course, I just lived nude. For a couple of hours once every week or so, I put on the same shorts and shirt and went shopping for necessities for a couple of hours.  Otherwise, there was no need for clothes. The notion of living my life in bare comfort couldn’t have been more apparent or practical.

I used a sit-down towel or two, a shower towel… and once in a while…the above mentioned shopping costume might finally get soiled enough for the laundry.

Not cooped up in clothing, skin free to breath, just a dab of dust collected, I wasn’t in much need of bathing as often… A body performs its tasks remarkably well when not hindered by cloth, but instead covered in air…all naturally.

I wasn’t stuffed into underwear… then stuffed into pants, and then left to stuffy extra heat. That creates discomfort AND a perfect incubation of excessive bacteria.

My body very efficiently aired out in comfort.

YUP, the experience of not dressing has shed a very apparent light on many of the questions of nudity.

This Month

This month, we’re going on a tour of a yet undecided series of pieces of American nature, we shall be very busy being au naturel, bare, bottomless, disrobed, mother-naked, nude, raw, starkers [chiefly British], stripped, unclad, unclothed, undressed, in the altogether (or the buff, or the nude, or one’s birthday suit, or the raw) and gloriously stark naked.

Thought We’d Try Mars!

Unappareled (or naturally appareled), unattired, unclad, unclothed, ungarbed, invested, disrobed, suited, bare, naked, nude, stripped, denuded, peeled, unveiled, uncovered, wholly not veiled, arrayed merely and merrily in the sunlight and such under the moon and stars.

Unadorned, but not caparisoned to decked out, rigged out, or tricked out, not vested, we shall strive to be decent, exposed, unabashedly displayed, revealed, disrobed, unprotected, unadorned, undecorated, unembellished, unornamented, earthy, elemental, homey, natural, honest, modest and unpretentious.  Being cleaned, austere, Spartan, stark, minimalism shall allow us to immerse in our habitats.  Our moments shall nearly always be properly unbedecked, improperly attired (or properly attired?), bare, bared, bare-skinned, unconcealed and relishing every place in every moment without a stitch.

We shall be roving, meandering, roaming, nomadic, errant, drifting, traveling, straying, itinerant, rambling, trekking, and prowling; drifting, in a gadabout, gypsy, knockabout, nomadic way. We’ll be nakedly vagabond wanderers. We shall be Free Range Naturists!

I have several scheduled posts lined up for continuity while we are gone. Some tales shorter, some long, will be peppered amongst a series of thoughtful shorts. I hope that they entertain, until we return with a host of new tales to add to our list of the yet published.

Fish and Owl: Bears Ears XXIX

2024-06-02

I’m continuing our series into Bears Ears National Monument in southeastern Utah. We’re looking for places to bivouac, set up camps near destinations and then get earlier starts on hikes.

We couldn’t leave our last camp soon enough because of gnats and the afternoon heat.  The harsh part of Summer isn’t far off. The plan is to situate in higher elevations and the better weather, climbing to suit our lack of suits. We’ll need a place to stay to get an early start near a trailhead, which leads to a ruin that we intend to explore.

A camping spot is found near a very fun old wooden bridge.

The solid old conveyance is filled with character, there are trees for shade and a dry creeks ambiance, maybe cool air will flow down the wash as evening passes.

The spot should suit our needs, but now we need another spot in proximity to Bridges National Park, our hike for the morning. Fish and Owl sounds like a good spot. There is a Ranger Station nearby. Our information is sparse at this point and they will help.

Voltaire on Nakedness

I had some clearing out to do, when I found some old papers, printouts from the early internet. From David Icke E Magazine, I’d printed an article out on December 31st, 2000, a year after the millennia computer crash silliness, probably from a Web TV, or something. It was titled “Nudity” by Voltaire.

I had to investigate. Was this real? After a search of “nudity”, I found Voltaires’ Philosophical Dictionary, a treatise of his writings, but only under the title “nakedness.” The famous philosopher actually wrote this back in the 1700’s.

An Image of Voltaire’s Nude Statue

From: Voltaire’s Philosophical Dictionary

NAKEDNESS

Why should one lock up a man or a woman who walked stark naked in the street? and why is no one shocked by absolutely nude statues, by pictures of the Madonna and of Jesus that may be seen in some churches?

It is probably that the human species lived long without being clothed.

People unacquainted with clothing have been found in more than one island and in the American continent.

The most civilized hide the organs of generation with leaves, woven rushes, feathers.

Whence comes this form of modesty? is it the instinct for lighting desires by hiding what it gives pleasure to discover?

Is it really true that among slightly more civilized nations, such as the Jews and half-Jews, there have been entire sects who would not worship God save by stripping themselves of all their clothes? such were, it is said, the Adamites and the Abelians. They gathered quite naked to sing the praises of God: St. Epiphanius and St. Augustine say so. It is true that they were not contemporary, and that they were very far from these people’s country. But at all events this madness is possible: it is not even more extraordinary, more mad than a hundred other madnesses which have been round the world one after the other.

We have said elsewhere that to-day even the Mohammedans still have saints who are madmen, and who go naked like monkeys. It is very possible that some fanatics thought it was better to present themselves to the Deity in the state in which He formed them, than in the disguise invented by[Pg 223] man. It is possible that they showed everything out of piety. There are so few well-made persons of both sexes, that nakedness might have inspired chastity, or rather disgust, instead of increasing desire.

It is said particularly that the Abelians renounced marriage. If there were any fine lads and pretty lasses among them, they were at least comparable to St. Adhelme and to blessed Robert d’Arbrisselle, who slept with the prettiest persons, that their continence might triumph all the more.

But I avow that it would have been very comic to see a hundred Helens and Parises singing anthems, giving each other the kiss of peace, and making agapæ.

All of which shows that there is no singularity, no extravagance, no superstition which has not passed through the heads of mankind. Happy the day when these superstitions do not trouble society and make of it a scene of disorder, hatred and fury! It is better without doubt to pray God stark naked, than to stain His altars and the public places with human blood.
